Bubba Sparxxx
Bubba Sparxxx
Southern Rapper from Athens, Georgia. Born March 6, 1977, Bubba started off rhyming under the wing of Athens rap veteran Duddy Ken, he later signed with Jermaine Dupri, but nothing came out of that, and his music came into the hands of Timbaland, who signed Bubba to his label and re-released his debut 'Dark Days, Bright Nights'. Beat Club Records folded, and Bubba is currently a part of Big Boi's Purple Ribbon imprint.
Tomato Dodgers
Tomato Dodgers
Since their collegiate inception in 2013, Tomato Dodgers have made a name for themselves with their musical creativity and action-packed stage show. Their music disregards a wide
variety of genres, opting instead to create its own. This has led them to play with and float around between DC's different music scenes with an ease that astonishes their admirers and
perplexes their enemies.

Ultimately, It is really their live show that leaves people's eyeballs singed with strange symbols. Tomato Dodgers perform in regal costumes, assisted by their 6-foot plush orange leader, Jeaux Phred. They don't just play - they tap-dance, harmonize whispers, lead group calisthenics, and
feed each other toast. It's more shtick than you can shake a stick at - but it doesn't ring hollow. It's the combination of fun and fierce that makes them a singular force to behold onstage. You see, they're cosmic.

This is not to say that the band ignores the political nature of living within spitting distance of the Nation's Capital. The band lives together at The Void, a long-running DIY venue that has given platform to hundreds of touring and local bands. Along with their other housemates, they also run VoidLife Records, a local label that works to bring DC artists together. They helped co-found Art Takes Action DC, a series of benefit events held at venues across the District. They've
played the Reason Rally. They once played a show joined by Martin O'Malley on guitar.

A seasoned touring band, Tomato Dodgers have repped DC all across the USA. Their last summer's tour was 50 dates as a six-piece band; they've since slimmed down to a modest five. 2017 saw the Dodgers tour Japan and South Korea, support acts including The World/Inferno Friendship Society, Thank You Scientist, and Lionize, and selling out shows in their hometown with spectacular joy.
All of this is Googleable.

In short, this is a band with tremendous extraterrestrial appeal. They are tolerated equally by punks, freaks, young entrepreneurs, and aging anti-capitalists - the four major audience markets of the DC metro area. They will certainly go down in history, in one way or another, or perhaps
not at all.
